Golden Opal

Opalware was first introduced in the 6^th century in the Italian city of Venice and later in the 19^th century it was mass produced by the French company called ARC. Most people call Opal dishes Arcopal because the French company ARC (the first official company which registered these type of tableware) released its products to the world market under the commercial brand name of Arcopal.

Opalware products or Arcopal dishes are items whose primary components are a mixture of glass and porcelain, which, of course, is lighter than porcelain because it is more delicate, and is more beautiful than glass and has an unbreakable property. In a simple and non-specialist way, it can be mentioned that opalware consists of 60% of glass, 30% of porcelain, and 10% of other minerals which are melted at a temperature between 1500 and 1600 Celsius degrees. Then they are shaped into the desired dishes with the best use of centrifugal system. In the next step of production, another heat treatment is performed on them, which is called Annealing, and it makes the products heat resistant so that the products become unbreakable and can be used in the microwave and dishwagher, and it is at this stage and before annealing that the decorations are placed on the surface of the products and tempered to remain constant.

Opalware products have become very popular in Iran from the past to the present. Currently, these items are not only used as the main serving dishes, but also, they are considered one of the most popular products in serving and catering dishes.

With the advancement of technology and the transfer of information, the production of this type of tableware in our country, Iran, has been welcomed by more consumers. The result of this valuable experience and years of close commercial and technical relationship with European engineers and designers led to their favorable opinion to participate in the huge project of building factories of this company in Iran as the largest consumer market for opalware items in the Middle East area.

The first phase of this cooperation, including the selection of the latest advanced machines and the most up-to-date technology for the production of Opal products, using the technical knowledge and experiences of Italian-French experts, was put into operation at the beginning of 2020.
